There is a problem with traditional martial arts training...

The combative skills of martial arts are undeniable. Learning to kick and punch is definitely an enjoyable process for most. The progression though the levels along with an increase in fitness and self confidence has additional benefits beyond the taught skills. And you can debate which style is better. You'll likely open your mind and learn about the original purpose of a variety of styles and see pros and cons of each over the course of the years. But one thing plagues every system. No matter what style you learn or who you train under, proficiency always takes time. Understand that the black belt, a coveted symbol of an expert to so many people is not an expert at all. The truth is a black belt will take 4 years to earn and proves only that the wearer has covered the basics to a reasonable level. They need to progress through the Dans to actually be an expert... years more training.

The harsh truth is that if you want to learn how to defend yourself, a martial art is not the answer.

It simply takes too long to learn
and they are now outdated!

But I can help you

I have trained thousands of people in person and online every the years, and my focus has always been direct and simple self defence. I have prided myself on making people better prepared for bad situations from their very first class with me. This is what I do, and I love and enjoy the process. I do not teach tradition, history or spirituality. I show you the venerable targets on a human body, and how to target them with maximum effect simply so you can create an opportunity to escape the danger and get home safely. I opened a club to train my followers in Krav Maga after I qualified as an Instructor in 2010. In 2013 I began teaching online because some students didn't want to be part of a traditional class. Then in 2020 I had to move my core business online. My students enjoy my classes, they are fun and engaging, and during a feedback moment at the end of an online training session I was asked if I could create a reference guide for them. The concept of The Toolbox has always been an analogy I like to use. Every skill you learn and strategy available to you are placed in this metaphorical toolbox in your mind for you to access when needed. You don't need all the tools of the world, you just need a few that have multiple purposes and are able to be used in the vast majority of situations. The idea behind it is that the techniques, strategies, combinations and plans are already in place, ready for access, and by having the Toolbox you reduce the thinking time and react faster in stressful situations.

Imagine if you could...?

... Train with true purpose and learn quickly. I will teach you real self defence skills with just 15 minutes a day. The program is designed so that you absorb the information and allow it to cement itself in your mind. You will read and train with small amounts at a time so that the skills are properly learnt. Sections of the book then reference back so that you practice with repetition.

... Have an all-in-one, zero equipment workout that feels like play. You can workout and train anywhere and anytime, knowing that each time your perform the exercises and sets you are improving your self defence skills as well as your physical fitness.

... Not have to waste time experimenting and figuring things out. You can just follow the plan with confidence.

It's the right information.
From the right instructor.
Given to you at the right time.

The Toolbox is simple and effective.

I think you'll agree...

Having proficient hand-to-hand combat skills is impressive, but it is not just the physical skill. Being able to handle yourself in physical and stressful situations brings with it a confidence unlike anything else. You don't need to fight every day, but the knowledge, skill and that confidence will surround you and enhance your day to day life.
You have probably tried a martial art in the past. But like most people you probably didn't expect that learning to fight would be THAT complicated, and I am not surprised because that is how I felt when I started. To quote the famous Bruce Lee "a punch is a punch and a kick is a kick".
Understand that I am just a regular guy. I wasn't always teaching exclusive workshops and running martial art classes or training those in need with essential self defence skills. I certainly didn't understand the level of violence in the world and how to manipulate fear to be useful in a self defence situation when I first started. I just thought a punch was a punch.

So if you have been struggling, you are certainly not alone.
And in all honesty, it's
not your fault.

Martial art systems are long and complicated, because in the past they had to be all inclusive, every battlefield option was necessary. But the modern world is different, we do not need to do high kicks to knock warriors off of horses, or know who to do complicated joint locks to harm an opponent in body armour. Our world in many ways is more complicated, but for self defence we can keep it far simpler. I am not a warrior, I am not a sports fighter. I am a self defence trainer. My only aim is to train people to escape violence. I do that with The Toolbox, a series of techniques and strategies with the overall plan of disabling your opponent for long enough to create an opportunity for you to escape to safety. That's it.

I'm just like you...
here's my story

Because of an unlucky situation I found myself in, I felt that I needed to learn self defence and I felt compelled to learn fast. But in the late 1990s there was no program available to me. No DVD courses, online programs and barely any real help with traditional books. I had to attend classes.

I attended every class I could. I found every martial art class in my area and became a nomad of styles. As a kid I had studied Karate and Jui-Jitsu. With this affiliation to the Japanese styles I moved to Aikido and Judo. Then Hapkido, Choi Kwang Do, Taekwondo, Wing Chun Kung Fu... I kept trying new styles and new instructors. Then I started travelling further afield to learn more and from different people...

... I had this little black and red 49cc 2 stroke motorbike that pumped out purple and white smoke. The high pitch revving plagued the streets and somehow induced static interference on TVs, but it got me to training and I loved it for that.

But the classes I attended something bothered me. There was too much tradition and spirituality in these styles. The respect based in the background of these martial arts ate into my training time. Bowing and learning numbers in the language were not relevant to my purpose... I just wanted the skills purely for self defence knowledge. I also noticed a steep learning curve. The movements and theories taught early were the simplest and most relevant in self defence, and they formed the basis for everything that followed, but what followed was long plateau of repetition and the slow introduction of new techniques and minor adaptations. At the time repetition was the main method of teaching and learning. But we now research and development has produced more efficient techniques to transfer knowledge and teach each other.

So here's the good news...

You can benefit from my research and modern teaching methods. It is not about constant repetition anymore. Instead presentation, timing and visualisation have drastically changed how quickly information can be absorbed. You can learn, and you can learn fast, to remember and to use when necessary.

I want to teach you hand-to-hand combat skills.

Being proficient in violence should not be a virtue of only the wicked. Good people with fighting abilities are needed in this world. We cannot all be soldiers, bodyguards and law enforcement officers. It is my purpose to train as many as I can so that we have the skills to end an attack with the only language a bully really understands. If you believe you are a good person, then I want you on my team. I want to teach you some techniques and protocols so that if you end up in a bad situation you will have the knowledge to be able to act and not live with regret.

I did the hard work...

This means that you don't have to. Learning from me is easy. It doesn't take years to be proficient, it just takes a few weeks of open minded commitment and a trust in the process.

So here's exactly what you will discover and learn in The Toolbox

3: Strategies

The last week strategically reviews the previous two weeks of techniques and crucially examines an often overlooked part of self defence training and that is your attitude and mindset. Most martial arts train you physically in skills and as a side affect you fitness levels increase. But in any situation where you are taken out of your comfort zone and experience stress your mindset and mastery of your thoughts will be critical to your success.

here's the last look inside...

Sample technique included in The Toolbox

In the first few pages of The Toolbox you will discover a technique called the Chin Jab. It was taught to British World War II Commandos as it is one of the few strikes that works well against an opponent who is wearing a helmet. I first learned about it when studying Defendu when I live in London. It is a palm strike to the jaw of your opponent. It rises up from under the chin to transmit the force to the head, making the whole head pivot sharply on a weak point of the neck so that your attacker is looking up. Done well this is a knockout strike, but even if you don't get that outcome the force and direction of the blow make them break stable posture and allows you the opportunity to quickly follow up with additional aggressive techniques to finish the fight and create enough time for you to escape to safety.

Real self defence skills

The best self defence techniques are simple and effective.

As an instructor and personal trainer for over a decade I have noticed that martial artists and those interested in self defence and fitness are always keen to learn and evolve. There is a natural leaning towards training smarter, not just harder.

There is always something new to learn

We find out something and either add it to our personal toolbox, or we discard is for reason. But there is always something new to examine. We keep learning and keep moving forward, evolving as we go. Whatever your favoured discipline within martial arts you will always discover something of interest in another style and way of thinking, whether you are a beginner or consider yourself a master of a style.

Studying the complexities over the years will give your great knowledge and understanding, but I don't believe there is an end-level. It's impossible to have in-depth knowledge and experience of everything.

Being able to simplify the knowledge for others is a trait that you have a good understanding.

"There is a moment when I am teaching when I see in the eyes of my students that they get it. That moment of recognition and understanding gives me a great feeling of fulfilment and joy."

Sharing knowledge and teaching is my passion.
Being able to pass on knowledge and skills quickly
is my gift and I want my students to get the
most out of my efforts

Added value: As I was developing the reference material for The Toolbox program, I began to work on a few extras that I could compile together and deliver with the original format. Master the Cross Punch and How to finish your workouts to maximise your explosive power are the 2 items of bonus material that I decided to add into this sale wo sweeten the deal for you and add more value. Master the Cross Punch details subtleties in the punching technique. You will learn everything, from how to roll a fist correctly to rotational and linear bodyweight movement, timing, targeting and retraction, there is so much in this book and a lot of it will cross over to improved you knowledge and skills when reading The Toolbox. How to finish your workouts to maximise your explosive power gives you clear instruction on how to end a workout so that your muscles grow to have gains in explosive power rather than just pure strength. It focuses on building up fast twitch muscle fibres so that you can react and move faster. Both these items of bonus material will greatly improve your self defence skill and understanding of technique and training.

Bonus 2:

How to finish workouts to maximise your explosive power, (no equipment needed). As a personal trainer I have been educated in muscular training for performance. In this bonus material I teach you how to train for explosive power gains, so you can put more power into your strikes
