Friday thoughts #20 - The value of positive feedback

Good morning superhero colleagues!

Above is the feedback I have received from these emails and the other efforts I put into the office and my team. All positive. 
I genuinely appreciate them all. They help to motivate me to care more for those around me and in those in my charge.
 
Because of this support I feel able to innovate a little more with things like: 

• The Care Cabinet
• The Happy Thoughts Jar
• Fruit bowls
• Breakfasts
• Ben’s Homemade Sandwiches & delivery service
• The thank you sweets and chocolates 

 
All small things, but they add up.
It’s contributing to a better working environment and is a result of the support I get from you.
 
Today’s message is not to underestimate the value of positive feedback. It is an incredible tool for us to utilize. 
 
You can lead and inspire so much more with a careful drop of positivity. 
Think back to one of my early thought emails about good work going unnoticed. If we apply that practice of gratitude to smaller efforts, creating more small efforts and watching it spread between us then we will build stronger bonds.

The 2 golden rules to note:

• Positive feedback should be quick and sincere. It is enhanced when delivered in public
• Negative feedback should be reframed, handled after quiet consideration and delivered privately
